A hands-on exhibit designed based on the Gobo social media browser. Museum visitors were invited to the read the kiosk’s description of how a social feed is constructed, and then create their own. The conversation about which posts to physically place raised numerous aspects of algorithmic literacy, and how websites use algorithms to hide and display content. Supported by a grant from Mozilla’s Reality Redrawn project, this was displayed at the Tech Museum in spring of 2018.
