I worked on PageOneX – a platform for newspaper front-page analysis. The tool, created by Pablo Rey, allows you to highlight areas of front pages that are about specific topics. Then the tool generates a chart of front page coverage over time. This builds on a rich history of quantitative news analysis that was mostly done with papers and scissors (by grad students locked in a room with beer and pizza), bringing it one step into the digital era.
In 2014 PageOneX won the Best Information Technology & Politics Award from the American Political Science Association.
