After many months of individual projects, the IMPACT group, a gathering of immigrant parents who convene on Friday mornings to connect and make art, began a collaborative mosaic to represent their group. They designed a logo of two clasped hands, and laid out the words IMAPCT (Immigrant Multilingual Parent Action Team) and PAC (Parent Action Team) above it. It took almost three months to piece it together, but last week the group grouted the mosaic and hung it for everyone who uses the room to enjoy.
