For the past year Connection Lab has been involved with the creation of a statewide strategic plan that will guide the Department of Public Health and the Massachusetts Gaming Commission in strengthening and creating services to respond to changes that might result from the expansion of legalized gambling in Massachusetts. The introduction of a slots parlor and resort-style casinos will change the gambling environment in the state and is likely to have significant impacts on public health.
Many stakeholders were involved in developing the plan. It is intended to be a “living document” that will be updated regularly in response to new data and contextual changes. The plan has now been posted publicly by the Department of Public Health. Click here to view the full document.
