A concrete path runs from the sidewalk to the main door of Agassiz preschool. What could be more fun than designing a collaborative mosaic to decorate it? This week the preschoolers began to help construct mosaic circles from the stones and tiles and other goodies that their families have been collecting for months.
We’re building the circles on mesh so that they’re small enough and manageable enough for each classroom session. Once they’ve all been constructed we’ll set them in cement on the path and fill in the spaces between them with plainer materials. It’s been fun and challenging to learn about what a 2 year-old can do to help and what a 4 year-old can do to help.
