Join us for an exciting event on October 5th to launch Somerville’s Public art map! Shape Up Somerville, the Somerville Arts Council and Connection Lab are organizing a walk through East Somerville to explore the public art that’s already in the neighborhood and to create our very own public art!
We’ll begin at the Foss Park pool at 10 AM to hear from muralist David Fichter about the mural that he created there and about the ongoing Mystic mural a few blocks away. We’ll walk together down Broadway to explore the new Chuckie Harris park and hear from its designers about how design choices can shape the way a space is used. We’ll visit the East branch library’s mural and discuss painted switchboxes along the way. We’ll then stop at Cross and Broadway to paint a swtichbox together!
Everyone is welcome, no painting experience necessary. Come for the exercise or come for the art, this is Art in Action!
